Bedtime Story Cinderella
Once upon a time, in a beautiful kingdom far, far away, there lived a young girl named Cinderella. Her mother had passed away when she was very young, and her father had married a new wife. This new wife had two daughters of her own, who were very mean and selfish. When Cinderella’s father also passed away, she was left to live with her stepmother and stepsisters. They treated her very badly and made her do all the hard work in the house. She had to clean the floors, cook the meals, and take care of the fireplace. Because she was always covered in ashes from the fireplace, people began to call her Cinderella.
Despite her difficult life, Cinderella was kind and gentle. She had a heart full of hope and a love for all living things. She had a few friends who were the mice that lived in the walls of the house. These mice, named Jaq and Gus, were very clever and always tried to help Cinderella in any way they could. They would often bring her little bits of food that they had found and would keep her company when she felt lonely.
One day, a royal proclamation was sent throughout the kingdom. The prince was having a grand ball, and all the young ladies were invited to attend. The winner of the ball would have the chance to dance with the prince and perhaps even become his bride. Cinderella’s stepsisters were very excited and spent hours trying on their beautiful dresses and accessories. They laughed and made fun of Cinderella, who was also excited but knew that her stepmother would never let her go.
When the day of the ball arrived, Cinderella’s stepsisters were dressed in their finest gowns and were ready to leave. Cinderella was left behind with her tattered dress and worn-out shoes. She sat by the fireplace, feeling very sad and alone. Just then, her fairy godmother appeared with a wave of her wand. The fairy godmother was a kind and magical being who had been watching over Cinderella all along. She saw the sadness in Cinderella’s eyes and decided to help her.
With a wave of her wand, the fairy godmother transformed Cinderella’s tattered dress into a beautiful gown made of silk and sparkles. She turned a pumpkin into a golden carriage, and the mice turned into horses. Even Cinderella’s old shoes were transformed into a pair of beautiful glass slippers. Cinderella was amazed and overjoyed. She thanked her fairy godmother and promised that she would be back before midnight, for the magic would end at that time.
Cinderella arrived at the ball, and everyone was in awe of her beauty. She danced with the prince, and they fell in love instantly. The night was magical, and Cinderella felt happier than she had ever felt in her life. However, as the clock began to strike midnight, she remembered her promise to her fairy godmother. She ran out of the ballroom as fast as she could, but in her haste, she lost one of her glass slippers.
The next morning, the prince was determined to find the girl who had captured his heart. He sent his servants throughout the kingdom with the glass slipper, hoping to find the one who fit it perfectly. When they arrived at Cinderella’s house, her stepsisters tried on the slipper, but it did not fit them at all. They laughed and made fun of Cinderella, who was still in her old clothes. However, the prince insisted that she try it on as well.
When Cinderella put on the glass slipper, it fit perfectly. The prince knew that she was the one he had danced with the night before. He took her in his arms and declared his love for her. Cinderella’s stepmother and stepsisters were shocked and angry, but there was nothing they could do. Cinderella and the prince got married in a beautiful ceremony, and they lived happily ever after.
Cinderella’s kindness and hope had brought her happiness in the end. She had learned that no matter how difficult life may seem, with a little bit of magic and a lot of love, anything is possible.
